Lost in Translation Vol. 13
The "name that tune" series with a twist. Can you reconstruct the original lyric after translation through half a dozen languages and identify the song?
Lost in Translation is a weekly “name that tune” series with a twist. Every Monday I’ll present a song lyric which has been run through half a dozen languages before back translation into English. The translation process transmogrifies the lyric into something quite unlike the original and the challenge is for you, Dear Reader, to attempt to decipher the lyric and name the tune. Every weekend I’ll publish a new post with the translated lyric along with the original and a YouTube video timestamped to the start of the lyric.
It’s Monday, which can only mean one thing—it’s time for another installment of Lost in Translation! Last week’s song was, apparently, the easiest (by far) since this series began. Half a dozen readers were into the comments within an hour (some within minutes) with the correct track—Madonna’s “Material Girl” from 1984’s Like a Virgin. I’d like to think that this week’s song will be much harder, but I don’t seem to have a handle lately on what’s easy and what’s difficult, so we shall see.
We’re going back to the early 80s, to a track that’s considered both a dance and a disco classic. While it peaked outside of the Billboard Hot 100 in the US, the song did very well on a couple of Billboard’s genre-specific charts while also reaching the top ten in over half a dozen European countries.

Translated Lyric
Here’s the lyric for this week’s Lost in Translation:
There is no problem I can't solve.
Because I can
If your husband is causing trouble
Go away.
Don't let it affect your mind.
Because the problem is over
Migrate
I said the problem is solved.
Migrate
If nobody’s scored the correct answer by midweek then I’ll be back on Notes with some more clues and on the weekend with the solution.
There’s one specific reader who I’m sure has a strong chance to get this week’s song and I’m excited to see if that happens. Have at it folks!!
Please head to the comments and let me know whether you’ve figured out this week’s song!!
I’m stuck on “Move Out” by Yaz. I can’t get past “migrate” equaling “move out,” but I know that’s not it.
This seems like a PeDupre special! 😀
I think it's the rap section of "Last Night a DJ Saved My Life"
