This week's challenge almost went unsolved until our most successful puzzle solver had an epiphany upon wakening! Hop inside for the solution and the musical connection.
Cymande was the word I didn't get as I apparently don't know it! I don't think I would have gotten the connection at all though even with the word. Some of these albums are a mystery to me!
I only knew the Prince album so there’s no reasonable chance I could have ever solved this. I may be the only one rooting for more commercial, widely known music, please!! 😂

Wow....nicely done, Frank! Color me envious, and obviously in a shade of cerulean blue with a tint of crimson embarrassment! Taking a guess at a tough puzzle-word for many, I recognized Cymande from having racked many of their albums, late-'70s, in record stores I worked at! I can imagine many of our puzzlers whiffed at that word in the puzzle.
Plus, getting this one, especially if one was unable to picture each in their mind, almost required Googling each album jacket, and setting aside a window apiece, almost in the way you might spread them out on a table, and seeing their various tints and shades, but now, in open PC windows! Pretty dastardly, Mark (he said, admiringly!), and really shrewd, Frank!
I really feel like I should’ve gotten this one. I did the rookie mistake of not calling up all the album covers side-by-side. I can feel that 2026. I am going to be much smarter and methodical. Watch out.

Cymande is definitely worth checking out for its mix of funk, soul, jazz and reggae beats. A fantastic album!
