I'm playing reverse catch-up here, but thankfully your alphabet doesn't seem to have to be listened to and read alphabetically! :)

Powerful piece you've written here. That's amazing that you reached (and I assume have maintained) the place where you have said what you wanted to say to the people you love and have made amends with everyone you wanted to. How are Bermuda hospitals compared to stateside ones? Do you have a sense of the differences (if there are any)?

Regarding the music, it was fun to see Frente! in your list. I used to play them back in the early '90s -- good to hear them again. The Fixx are one of my favorite bands, so was happy to see them on your list. "Secret Separation" is a classic. It would be hard to narrow it down to one song by them for me.

I was unfamiliar with Finlay Quaye and Faunts and Finger Eleven.

And Fiona is definitely a favorite of mine. When the Pawn is in my top 10 albums all time. I agree that Fetch the Boltcutters was overhyped. But I did like it, more sonically than emotionally.

Good job, Mark! Like "In the Wee Small Hours....", I too was released to critical acclaim in 1955! In fact, #69 will smack me in the face this Monday....thus making your personal faith'n'strength story that much more uplifting and inspiring! Thanks for that! ..........And, what Andy said!😁👍

Thanks for reading and commenting Steve!

Yes I feel very blessed to be at peace in my relations with others in my life both past and present.

I have very little experience of US hospitals having only ever been in one briefly when the car I was in was T-boned in 2012. Thankfully, despite being battered and bruised, I was only there for a few hours. My impression is that they’re quite similar.

I’d almost completely forgotten about Frente! until I began compiling the list and had forgotten how much I used to play that album.

I’d like to explore The Fixx a little more, just haven’t gotten round to it.

Glad I was able to introduce you to some new music!

Thanks for reading Michael, and for your comment

I remember really liking that Finley Quaye album but then I completely lost track of him musically. I’ll look out for some of his more recent stuff

Thank you for sharing this with us, Mark. I greatly appreciate your vulnerability and honesty.

On a side note, I was delighted to see Finley Quaye making the final cut! I love that album and have fond memories of it when it came out. I also really like his album, '28th February Road.' He has been very active on Bandcamp and he has also moved some of his newer stuff over to Spotify. It has more of a sketchbook quality to it, coming across as ideas for bigger pieces, but it's quite charming in its looseness and honesty.
