Hi Kristin, thanks for reading and for commenting! The scenery in Wales is so gorgeous it’s hard to take a bad photo! Glad you’re enjoying the musical selection. I tend to go with the songs that spoke to or resonated with me, which makes it easier to write about as well.
Did anything stand out for you musically this week?
Geggy Tah! Yes! I'm so happy someone else remembers/likes this track. That Garbage record is great too. I pass by Smart Studios fairly often, and wish I could say the building has held up as well. It's an AirBnB now, but could definitely use some TLC.
Thanks Andres! It never ceases to amaze me what my 52-year old body is capable of. We just finished 16+ miles with 3,000 feet of elevation gain. A tough day, sure, but my body never lets me down as long as I treat it half decent (trying to eat right and getting my regular walking in between trips).
I’d highly recommend a walking vacation to just about anyone. It’s a beautiful way to experience a country and to really be IN the landscape.
Beautiful photos of Wales, Mark. I hope your hike continues to be a wonderful journey.
On a side note, I, too, would never call myself a "Deadhead," however, I did follow the Dead for two years, and went to *many* shows all over the country. Eventually, I realized I needed to get off the Jerry bus and move on with my life. So I can definitely relate to your brief intro of 'Friend of the Devil.'
Thanks for the comment Michael. Wales continues to exceed expectations. After walking through snow a few days ago, we just finished 16+ miles in mostly gorgeous weather. It’s so beautiful here it’s hard to take a bad photo.
So how does following the Dead work exactly? Were you with buddies in a van/car? Hitchhiking? Public transport?
Hi Mark, Myself and four friends bought an old '70s station wagon, and we drove from city to city, state to state, east-west, north-south, and saw multiple shows over two years.

So few people I know have even heard of Geggy Tah!
Great read as always! Lovely photos as well. Walking such long distances must feel so liberating. Well done!

Sounds energising and rewarding! Enjoy!!

Wow that sounds like quite an adventure! I can imagine why, at some point, you’d want/need to get off the bus
Love your dedication! And what gorgeous pics!!
I like that you have chosen songs that aren’t quite the most popular from most of the groups here that I know and love!
