I lived in Aberystwyth for several years. Wales can be so beautiful.

I saw Ani de Franco at the WOMAD festival a long while ago now. As you say, mind opening. Thanks for the memory and the rest of the music.

Thanks for reading and the comment Ian! Yes, Wales is definitely beautiful, our third hike here.

I also managed to see Ani DiFranco in concert in Albany, NY in 1998 and she was excellent. I haven’t enjoyed much of her more recent music but I still go back to some of her earlier stuff fairly regularly

There’s a super cool music venue here called Codfish Hallow - it’s a huge barn on a farm that is just amazing! For at least two years I tried and failed to get Ani DiFranco tickets - they would sell out in like 10 minutes!! Last year, they finally got her for two nights, and I was able to get tickets for me and my sisters and it was incredible!!

So many of my favorites here! Love Fumbling Towards Ecstasy - recently listened to a few of my favorite tracks and “Good Enough” is one of my all time favorites.

Totally agree with Portishead - “Roads” is my top favorite!

Definitely going to listen to the Mission track- I can’t remember which of their songs was popular when I listened to them back in the day.

Thanks for reading and for your comment Kristin!

So awesome you finally got to see Ani DiFranco, hopefully she was great!

Fumbling Towards Ecstasy is such a great album isn’t it? One of the nice things about this weekly playlist series is revisiting albums I haven’t listened to in a while and it was wonderful to spend some more time with that album again.

Roads is actually one of my favorite songs of all time (currently have a list of 34 favorite tracks going).
