Fantastic album. There is a wealth of music from Africa that is finally getting out and being heard. Yet, at the same time, so much more is still undiscovered (especially from countries often overlooked in favor of Nigeria, Ghana, Ethiopia, and Zambia).
I’m somewhat plugged in to some of the music of the African continent (both new and old) but there’s a treasure trove of undiscovered gems out there. I’m grateful for some of the reissue labels that are bringing some of the older music some much-needed exposure.
I became obsessed with this album when I first heard it a couple of years ago! “When the Going is Smooth & Good,” is my favorite song. It’s 12 minutes well spent
